What does a custom first dance song include?

We deliver a professional, polished song suitable for your first dance. The song will be written, produced, mixed, and mastered by our team, boasting over 20 years of songwriting and music production experience across various genres. The finished song will be delivered in both .MP3 and .WAV format, and typically runs 2 to 3 minutes. We also allow up to 1 re-write or 2 rounds of minor revisions (a re-write counts as the first round of revisions). Additional revisions/re-writes may be available for a fee.

what does the approval process look like?

We’ll send you a lower-quality (technically, not musically!), watermarked version of the song for you to approve. You can let us know if you need any changes made, and we’ll then send the final full-resolution files. We deliver all songs in both .MP3 format and lossless .WAV.

What style of music will the song be?

As the intended purpose is to be used as your wedding song, our songs are usually ballads, incorporating a mix of piano, strings, and brass instruments. Other instruments may be available to be added on request, and other styles of music may be possible as well. Just ask!

what kinds of questions do you ask during the zoom call?

We start with some pretty basic things - where and how you met, how long you’ve been together, any shared hobbies, etc. From there, we’ll spend the rest of the time getting to know you both personally. We’d love to hear about any inside jokes you have together, crazy experiences you’ve had, really anything that helps us get to know you better. After all, the better we know you, the more personal the song will be!

How long does it take?

Our turnaround time is roughly 2-3 weeks on average. Remember, these are songs being written and recorded specifically for you. Quality custom work takes time, and shouldn’t be rushed, so we strongly advise starting the process well in advance of your wedding day (we recommend starting the process no later than 3 months prior, but 5-6 months is ideal). Please note that re-writes, changes, and special requests may add to the timeline. Expedited (short-notice) requests may be possible for an additional fee if our workload permits it.

How do payments work?

Payment is due at checkout. We know wedding planning gets expensive, so we’re proud to offer “buy now, pay later” options such as Klarna and Apple Pay Later. You can find these on the checkout page.

In the unlikely event that we feel we can’t deliver the perfect final product after getting all the information from you, we’ll fully refund you.

There are no refunds available once the recording process begins unless we can’t deliver the song.

what can I do with the song after the wedding?

These songs are yours to listen to forever. Play it in your car, at your future anniversary parties, show it off to friends, whatever you want! You can also give them to your wedding videographer/cinematographer to use in your wedding video! We recommend storing a copy of the audio file in whatever cloud storage account you use for safekeeping (such as Dropbox, Google Drive, or iCloud), as we cannot guarantee that we’ll keep a copy for more than 90 days after final approval.

All of these questions were about first dance songs. what if i just need an instrumental cover of an existing song?

We didn’t forget about those! They’re just much more straightforward since the main version of the song already exists. You’ll fill out a short form to tell us what song you want covered, what instrument(s) you want us to use (acoustic guitar, piano, strings, etc.) and when you need it by. We’ll send you the finished song in both .MP3 and .WAV formats. Instrumental covers include 1 round of minor revisions.
